About

Oak Grove Campground is a 30-site primitive campground located in the Smokey Bear Ranger District of Lincoln National Forest in south-central New Mexico. The campground sits at approximately 8,200 feet elevation, surrounded by oak forest with scenic views of Sierra Blanca peak nearby. Each site includes a picnic table and fire ring/fireplace, with vault toilets and trash collection available. However, there is no potable water on site, so campers must bring their own supply. The campground accommodates tents and small RVs up to 18 feet in length. Sites are $10 per night with a $5 fee for additional vehicles (maximum 2 vehicles per site) and a 14-day stay limit. The campground is currently closed due to damage sustained from the South Fork Fire. Post-fire assessments and hazard tree mitigation work are ongoing in the area as part of restoration efforts.
