About
Meadowview Equestrian Campground is situated five miles north of Frenchman Lake at 6,100 feet elevation in the Beckwourth Ranger District of Plumas National Forest. As the only equestrian campground on the district, it caters to both family campers and horse enthusiasts. The facility features six campsites, each equipped with a picnic table, fire ring, and bear-proof food locker. Across the road from the main campground, a horse corral with its own table and fire ring provides dedicated space for equestrian campers. The campground offers basic amenities including vault toilets and a hand pump providing non-potable water. Campers should bring their own drinking water and pack out all trash, as no garbage service is provided. The older horse grazing pasture has fencing in rough condition. Each site accommodates up to six people and two vehicles, with OHV use prohibited within the campground. A 14-day stay limit applies, and Senior and Access passes receive a 50% discount on the $10 per night camping fee.
