About

Meadow View Equestrian Campground is the only dedicated equestrian camping facility on the Beckwourth Ranger District of Plumas National Forest. Located five miles north of Frenchman Lake at 6,100 feet elevation, the campground provides a quiet base for horseback riding in the surrounding forest. The facility offers six campsites, each equipped with a picnic table, fire ring, and bear-proof food locker. A horse corral with its own table and fire ring sits across the road from the main camping area, providing dedicated space for horses. Basic amenities include vault toilets and a hand pump supplying non-potable water. This is a primitive, first-come first-served campground with no fees currently collected. Campers must bring their own drinking water and pack out all trash. Maximum stay is 14 days, with a limit of 6 people and 2 vehicles per site. OHV use is prohibited. Senior and Access pass holders receive applicable discounts when fees are in effect.
