Hidden Springs Campground occupies a shaded hillside in the heart of Humboldt Redwoods State Park, surrounded by towering coast redwoods and mixed forest. The campground's 154 sites provide a more secluded camping experience compared to the park's other developed campgrounds, with good spacing between sites and dense vegetation offering privacy. Each site comes equipped with a picnic table, fire ring, and bear-resistant food locker. The campground provides modern amenities including flush toilets and coin-operated hot showers. Potable water is available throughout. A seasonal kiosk operates during peak season from 11am to 5pm. The South Fork of the Eel River is accessible nearby via a trail across the Avenue of the Giants, leading to a popular swimming hole at Eagle Point. Hidden Springs operates seasonally, typically from Memorial Day weekend through September. Site-specific reservations are available through ReserveCalifornia, with some sites offered on a first-come, first-served basis for single-night stays. The campground has no RV hookups or dump station, and the forested hillside terrain is best suited for tents and smaller RVs or trailers.

Directions

From US-101, take the Avenue of the Giants exit near Myers Flat. Head north on Avenue of the Giants approximately 1 mile. The campground entrance is on the east side of the road, about 5 miles south of the Humboldt Redwoods Visitor Center.
