About
Columbine Corrals Campground offers a high-elevation camping experience at 9,440 feet in the Pinaleño Mountains of southeastern Arizona. The small six-site campground is nestled in mixed-conifer forest across from the Columbine Visitor Center. Each site includes a picnic table and fire pit. Public horse corrals make this a destination for equestrian campers exploring the surrounding wilderness. Two trails depart directly from the campground: Ash Creek Trail #307 and Webb Peak Trail #345. The campground provides vault toilets and bear-proof trash receptacles. Potable water is available seasonally. Payment is by cash or check only. Access is via the Swift Trail Scenic Parkway (AZ 366), which climbs from the desert floor through multiple life zones. The road includes challenging switchbacks that make it unsuitable for vehicles or trailers longer than 22 feet. The Swift Trail closes to vehicles from November 15 through April 15 for winter, rendering the campground inaccessible during that period.
