About

Columbine Corrals Campground is nestled in mixed-conifer forest at 9,440 feet elevation on Mount Graham in the Pinaleño Mountains of southeastern Arizona. Part of the Coronado National Forest, this small campground features six campsites, each equipped with a picnic table and fire pit. The facility includes vault toilets, bear-proof trash cans, and seasonal drinking water. A key feature of this campground is its public corrals, making it an ideal destination for horse camping and equestrian recreation. The campground serves as a trailhead for two popular hiking trails: Ash Creek Trail #307 and Webb Peak Trail #345. Located directly across from the Columbine Visitor Center along the Swift Trail Parkway (AZ Highway 366), the campground is accessible via a scenic mountain road that climbs through multiple ecological zones, from Sonoran desert to spruce-fir forest. The switchback-heavy road is not recommended for vehicles longer than 22 feet. The campground operates seasonally from mid-April through mid-November, as the Swift Trail closes for winter due to snow. Sites are available on a first-come, first-served basis at $15 per night, with America the Beautiful Senior and Access Pass holders receiving a 50% discount. Early or late season snow may extend the winter closure period beyond the standard November 15 to April 15 dates.
