About

Apache Creek Campground is a peaceful, undeveloped campground situated among ponderosa pines in the northwest region of the Gila National Forest. Located at 6,431 feet elevation on the Reserve Ranger District, it provides abundant shade and a clean, quiet atmosphere with plentiful wildlife viewing opportunities. The campground offers basic amenities including vault toilets and picnic tables at each site. No potable water is available, so campers must bring their own supply. A small store is located about 500 yards away on Highway 12. The campground is free to use with no reservation system; all sites are first-come, first-served with a 14-day stay limit. Pets are welcome but must be kept leashed. OHVs, ATVs, hunting, shooting, and stock animals are prohibited within the campground. No permits are required for standard camping use.

Directions

From Reserve, travel north on New Mexico Highway 12 for approximately 12 miles. Just past mile marker 19, turn south (right if coming from Reserve) onto Forest Road 94 (Cox Canyon Road). The campground is located about 0.25 mile down on the right side of the road.
