About

Alpine View Campground is a 53-site family campground located on the shores of Trinity Lake within the Whiskeytown-Shasta-Trinity National Recreation Area. At 2,400 feet elevation, the campground's three loops wind through a scenic grove of Douglas fir and cedar with an understory of ferns. Sites in Loops A and B offer views of Trinity Lake. The campground features well-developed facilities including paved social areas, roads, and spurs. Each site comes equipped with a picnic table and steel fireplace, while some sites include bear-proof food storage lockers. Three accessible restrooms with flush toilets serve the campground, and drinking water is available throughout. The location is popular with boaters, as the Bowerman boat ramp sits just a quarter-mile from the campground entrance. Trinity Lake offers excellent fishing for trout, salmon, bass, and catfish. Hikers can access several trails including the 0.3-mile Lake Trail. Bears frequent the area, so proper food storage is essential.
