Seas peaking near 8 ft and south winds 10 to 15 kt. * WHERE...In the Main Channel of the Columbia River Bar. * WHEN...From 5 PM this afternoon to 10 PM PDT this evening. * IMPACTS...Conditions will be hazardous to small craft, especially when operating near to, or attempting to cross, the Columbia River Bar. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Very strong ebb current of 6.5 kt at 732 PM Thursday. Seas 8 ft.
Frost Advisory issued October 29 at 11:14AM PDT until October 31 at 9:00AM PDT by NWS Portland OR
* WHAT...Temperatures of 36 degrees or lower will result in frost formation. * WHERE...Portions of northwest and west central Oregon and southwest Washington. * WHEN...From midnight Friday Night to 9 AM PDT Saturday. * IMPACTS...Frost could harm sensitive outdoor vegetation. Sensitive outdoor plants may be killed if left uncovered. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Frost and freeze headlines are only issued through the growing season of April 1 through October 31. Therefore, frost or freeze headlines will not be issued beginning November 1, even though similar low temperatures are possible. Additionally, frost and freeze headlines will no longer be issued this growing season for the Upper Hood River Valley, southern Willamette Valley, south Washington Cascade Foothills, and north Oregon Coast Range as these locations have already experienced a hard freeze earlier in October.
