At 552 PM MDT, Doppler radar indicated earlier thunderstorms that produced heavy rain across portions of Hole in the Rock Road, primarily over Harris Wash, Choprock Canyon, and Neon Canyon. Water will continue to flow down the Escalante River to Lake Powell. Up to 0.75 inches of rain have fallen. Flash flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly. HAZARD...Life threatening flash flooding. Thunderstorms producing flash flooding. SOURCE...Radar indicated. IMPACT...Life threatening flash flooding of creeks, streams, slot canyons, and normally dry washes. Some locations that will experience flash flooding include... Portions of Hole in the Rock Road, primarily over Harris Wash, Choprock Canyon, and Neon Canyon. Also, the Escalante River from Harris Wash south to Lake Powell.

Water will continue to flow downstream through Halls Creek Narrows down to Lake Powell. Up to 1 inch of rain has fallen. Flash flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly. HAZARD...Life threatening flash flooding. Thunderstorms producing flash flooding. SOURCE...Radar indicated. IMPACT...Life threatening flash flooding of creeks, streams, slot canyons, and normally dry washes. Some locations that will experience flash flooding include... Brimhall Natural Bridge near Halls Creek, with water continuing to flow down Halls Creek into Halls Creek Narrows and down to Lake Powell.

* WHAT...Flash flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues to be possible. * WHERE...A portion of Utah, including the following areas, Castle Country, Central Mountains, Eastern Juab/Millard Counties, San Rafael Swell, Sanpete Valley, Sevier Valley, Bryce Canyon Country, Capitol Reef National Park and Vicinity, Glen Canyon Recreation Area/Lake Powell, South Central Utah, Southern Mountains, Upper Sevier River Valleys, Western Canyonlands, Lower Washington County and Zion National Park. * WHEN...Through Monday evening. * IMPACTS...Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, dry washes, slot canyons, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations such as slickrock areas and recent burn scars including Widemouth 2, Cottonwood, Monroe Canyon, Forsyth, and other recent burn scars. Flooding may occur in poor drainage and urban areas. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - Deep moisture will continue to support thunderstorms with heavy rainfall across the watch area through Monday evening, particularly during the afternoon and evening.
