* WHAT...Very cold wind chills as low as 20 below zero. * WHERE...Benton, Jasper, Lake IN, Newton, and Porter Counties. * WHEN...Until noon CST /1 PM EST/ today. * IMPACTS...The dangerously cold wind chills as low as 20 below zero could cause frostbite on exposed skin in as little as 30 minutes. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Strong west-northwest winds gusting to 30 to 40 mph will cause areas of blowing snow and low drifting snow causing locally poor visibility and hazardous travel, especially on north to south roads in open, exposed areas. Scattered snow showers will further exacerbate visibility impacts at times.

* WHAT...For the Gale Warning, west gales to 40 kt and significant waves to 12 ft occasionally to 16 ft. For the Heavy Freezing Spray Warning, heavy freezing spray at a rate of 2 cm per hour or greater may rapidly accumulate on vessels. * WHERE...Gary to Michigan City IN. * WHEN...For the Gale Warning, until 3 PM CST this afternoon. For the Heavy Freezing Spray Warning, until 9 PM CST this evening. * IMPACTS...Operating a vessel in heavy freezing spray is hazardous. Freezing spray may render mechanical and electronic components inoperative. Rapid ice accretion on decks and superstructures may result in a catastrophic loss of stability. Strong winds will cause hazardous waves which could capsize or damage vessels and reduce visibility.

* WHAT...Lake effect snow and blowing snow expected. Additional snow accumulations up to two inches. Blowing and drifting snow, especially through mid afternoon today. Visibilities of less than one quarter of a mile due to snow and blowing snow are possible at times, with the greatest impacts expected along and north of the Toll Road. Winds gusting as high as 35 mph with the strongest gusts occurring this morning into midday. * WHERE...Eastern St. Joseph IN, Elkhart, Northern La Porte, and Western St. Joseph IN Counties. * WHEN...Until 7 PM EST /6 PM CST/ this evening. * IMPACTS...Roads, and especially bridges and overpasses, will likely become slick and hazardous. Plan on slippery road conditions. The hazardous conditions could impact the Monday morning commute.
