About
Tucked along the shore of Lake Madison, this small but complete park meets the many needs of campers, anglers and boaters. Campsites at Walker's Point Recreation Area offer picturesque views of the 2,800-acre lake, while anglers enjoy both on- and off-shore fishing. Select a basic site or one with electricity in the campground at Walker's Point Recreation Area. To make your stay more comfortable, showers and flush toilets are provided in the comfort station. One room, log-style cabins sleep four and are furnished with a set of bunk beds, double bed, table and benches. Air-conditioning keeps you cool in the summer and you can turn on the heat in the winter months. Cook outdoors on the fire grate provided and gather around the picnic table to dine. One of those meals might be fresh-caught fish pulled right from the lake. Varieties found here are walleye, perch, northern pike, crappie and bullhead. A fish-cleaning station helps get your catch ready for dinner. There's also a beach, boat ramp, playground and ski beach for guests at Walker's Point Recreation Area to use and enjoy. For a step back in time, visit Prairie Village near Madison. The living museum has exhibits reflecting life at the turn of the century. While there, you can ride a rare steam-powered carousel.
