About
Situated on the rolling prairie bluffs, the east and west campgrounds at Swan Creek Recreation Area provide anglers the opportunity to stay overnight. Two ramps offer access to Lake Oahe for boating and fishing fun. Swan Creek, nine miles west of the town of Akaska, is one of the South Dakota state parks along the Lewis and Clark Trail. Before you bait your hook, get on the computer to book a site using the convenient online reservation system. Select either a basic site or one with electricity, then let your getaway to Swan Creek begin. Lake Oahe is packed with walleye, smallmouth bass, white bass, northern pike and perch. After bringing in your catch, use the fish-cleaning station to prepare for some fine dining.
