About

Water-lovers enjoy fishing, boating, or just watching the waves at Cow Creek Recreation Area. Both primitive shoreline camping and campground camping are available. The shoreline sites offer outstanding views of Oahe Reservoir while providing a great deal of privacy. Campsites in the campground have easy access to drinking water and restrooms/showers and can be booked in advance. Four camping cabins are also available. Camping cabins at Cow Creek Recreation Area accommodate four people in the one-room space with a set of bunk beds, double bed, table and benches. Heating, air conditioning and electricity provide for year-round comfort. Cabins do not have restrooms, running water or kitchens. A porch, picnic table and fire grate allow for pleasant outdoor dining while enjoying the scenic surroundings. Park amenities include a boat ramp and picnic shelter. Anglers landing walleye, sauger, northern pike, channel catfish, trout and bass can prepare their catch in the fish-cleaning station. Lake Oahe Reservoir, located on the Missouri River, provides hours of outdoor fun. The lake has more than 2,000 miles of shoreline and its clear waters are ideal for boating, sailing, fishing, water skiing and diving. Campers, history buffs, mountain bikers and hikers will find new adventures in this rugged land first explored by Lewis and Clark.
