About
Rio Grande Village RV Park is the only full-hookup campground in Big Bend National Park, providing 25 back-in sites with water, electric, and 3-inch sewer connections. Located 20 miles east of park headquarters at Rio Grande Village, the campground sits at an elevation of 1,850 feet along the Rio Grande River. The paved lot features grassy, tree-lined edges and is conveniently adjacent to the Rio Grande Village camp store. The campground can accommodate large RVs up to 38 feet, though periodically some sites may not be available for longer RVs due to parking lot size and space orientation. All sites are back-in only, and tents are not permitted. The facility provides flush toilets, coin-operated showers, laundry facilities, a dump station, and trash collection. Wood and ground fires are prohibited, but charcoal grills are provided at each site. Weather conditions vary dramatically by season. Winter months (November through March) offer warm, pleasant temperatures with daily highs in the mid-70s to low 80s. From April through September, the campground experiences extreme heat with daily highs exceeding 100-107 degrees. Pets are allowed but must remain on leash and are not permitted on park trails, in the backcountry, or on the river. Reservations are required and must be made by calling the front desk.
