About

San Elijo State Beach Campground stretches along a scenic coastal bluff on Highway 101 between Encinitas and Solana Beach. The campground features 171 sites split between oceanfront premium sites on the bluff with direct beach views and inland sites separated by the park road. Approximately 26 sites offer full hookups with electric, water, and sewer connections, while additional sites have water and electric only. Sites include picnic tables and fire rings. The campground provides flush restrooms with hot showers operated by tokens available at the ranger station. A dump station is available for a $10 fee. Six ADA-accessible campsites with paved surfaces are available, and beach wheelchairs can be checked out at the entrance kiosk. Stairs lead directly down the bluff to the beach. The walkable Cardiff-by-the-Sea community offers restaurants, coffee shops, and markets within easy distance. The on-site camp store and laundry facilities are currently closed pending a new concession contract. Maximum stay is 7 consecutive nights March through November and 14 nights December through February, with a 30-night annual limit per customer.
