Cleone Group Campground is situated within MacKerricher State Park, three miles north of Fort Bragg on Highway 1 along California's scenic Mendocino coast. The campground offers two tent-only group sites: Cleone Group East accommodates 9 to 60 people with up to 20 vehicles, while Cleone Group West accommodates 9 to 40 people. The park encompasses diverse coastal habitats including beaches, bluffs, headlands, dunes, forest, and wetland areas. The park provides numerous recreational opportunities with tide pools along the shore, seal viewing on offshore rocks, and more than 90 species of birds near Lake Cleone, a former tidal lagoon. Winter and spring visitors can enjoy whale watching from the nearby headlands. Lake Cleone offers fishing opportunities for bass and trout. The park features hiking trails, a wheelchair-accessible boardwalk at Laguna Point, and the historic Haul Road trail popular with hikers, joggers, bicyclists, and equestrians. Pay showers are available for registered campers, and the park has restrooms and drinking water.

Directions

Located three miles north of Fort Bragg on Highway 1. From the intersection of Mill Creek Drive and Highway 1, proceed west toward the park entrance.
