About
Corral Creek Dispersed Camping provides free, first-come, first-served camping along the scenic North Fork of the Kern River in Sequoia National Forest. This heavily-used dispersed site offers a more rustic camping experience with portable toilets and trash service available during the summer months. Campers must bring their own water as none is available on-site. A small, short trail connects the camping area to Corral Creek Picnic Area, a popular small beach along the Kern River perfect for swimming and day use. Due to the river's Wild and Scenic designation, camping and campfires are prohibited within 25 feet of the water's edge. Glass containers are also prohibited throughout the area. The beach area does not allow camping, dogs, vehicles, or campfires. California Campfire Permits are required for all campfires, barbeques, and camp stoves, though campfires may be restricted or prohibited depending on current fire danger levels. This location is among the designated dispersed camping areas allowed along the Upper Kern River corridor. Dogs are permitted in the camping area on a 6-foot leash.
Directions
Corral Creek Dispersed Camping is located approximately 9 miles north of Kernville, California, along Mountain Highway 99. The campground is situated directly across from the Corral Creek Lodge. Look for signage indicating the camping area on the east side of the highway.
