About
Corral Creek Dispersed Camping sits along the scenic North Fork of the Kern River in Sequoia National Forest, just north of Goldledge Campground. This free dispersed camping area attracts heavy use from visitors seeking primitive riverside camping without the structure of a developed campground. Portable toilets and trash bins are provided during summer months, though campers must bring their own drinking water or filter from the river. The site connects via a short trail to Corral Creek Picnic Site, a small beach along the Kern River. Note that the beach itself prohibits camping, dogs, vehicles, and campfires. Throughout the dispersed camping area, all camping and campfires must remain at least 25 feet from the water's edge due to the Kern River's Wild and Scenic designation. Glass containers are prohibited throughout the area. Campfires require a free California Campfire Permit, obtainable online. During periods of elevated fire danger, campfires and barbecues may be prohibited while camp stoves remain permitted. The area offers stream fishing opportunities and access to the Upper Kern River corridor.
Directions
