About

Whiskey Springs Campground is a quiet and secluded forest campground located east of Medford, Oregon, within the Rogue River-Siskiyou National Forest. The campground features 34 shady, flat campsites arranged along a loop, offering a classic forest camping experience. Sites include a mix of standard nonelectric and tent-only sites, complete with picnic tables and fire rings. The campground sits on the historic site of the original supply road (Old Military Road) for Fort Klamath, adding historical significance to the natural setting. A one-mile interpretive loop trail is located within the campground, and the area provides access to numerous other hiking opportunities including the Mt. McLoughlin Trail. The campground is a short distance from both Willow Lake (927 acres with swimming, fishing, and boating) and Fish Lake, making it an ideal base for exploring the southern Cascades. Amenities include vault toilets, drinking water, garbage disposal, and a campground host during the operating season. Bears frequent the area, so campers must maintain a clean camp and store all food items in closed containers. Off-highway vehicles are prohibited in the campground, and quiet hours are enforced between 10 p.m. and 6 a.m.
