Flooding may occur in poor drainage and urban areas. Low-water crossings may be flooded. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - Moderate to heavy rain is possible at times. About
Wild Cow Springs Campground is a primitive BLM site nestled among oak and large ponderosa pines in Arizona's Hualapai Mountains at 6,200 feet elevation. The location provides significant relief from summer heat, with temperatures averaging 20 degrees cooler than the desert valleys more than 3,000 feet below near Kingman. The campground offers basic amenities including vault toilets, fire rings, grills, trash cans, and picnic tables at most sites. An ADA-accessible campsite and toilet are available. All sites operate on a first-come, first-served basis with a 14-day stay limit. Access is via Flag Mine Road, an unpaved single-lane route starting at Pine Lake. High-clearance 4WD vehicles are highly recommended, and vehicles towing trailers should not attempt the road beyond Pine Lake.
Directions
From Kingman, travel 14 miles on Hualapai Mountain Road through Hualapai Mountain County Park into the small community of Pine Lake. Turn right at the Pine Lake Firehouse onto Flag Mine Road, an unpaved one-lane road. Continue approximately 5 miles to the campground. High-clearance 4WD vehicles are highly recommended.
