Coconino County in north central Arizona...the Colorado River near mile marker 62. * Until 1215 AM MST /115 AM MDT/ Tonight. * At 522 PM MST /622 PM MDT/, Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms that produced heavy rain earlier southwest of Cameron have resulted in a flash flood along the Little Colorado River west of Cameron. Between 1 and 2 inches were estimate by radar earlier in the afternoon. Flash flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly. The flood wave is expected to reach the Colorado River between 10 PM and 1 AM. HAZARD...Life threatening flash flooding. Heavy rain from thunderstorms earlier. SOURCE...Radar indicated. IMPACT...Life threatening flash flooding along the Little Colorado River west of Cameron. * Some locations that will experience flash flooding include... Little Colorado River Navajo Tribal Park. * WHAT...Flash flooding caused by excessive rainfall is possible. * WHERE...Apache, Coconino, and Navajo counties. * WHEN...From Sunday afternoon through Monday evening. * IMPACTS...Flash flooding will be possible in creeks, normally dry washes, swimming holes, and over recently burned areas. Raging killer currents will be possible in side canyons and narrow slot canyons. Low-water crossings may be flooded. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - Numerous to widespread showers and thunderstorms are expected across much of central and northern Arizona on Sunday and Monday, including the overnight hours Sunday night.
