Waters from Savannah GA to Altamaha Sound GA out 60 NM... * Until 915 AM EDT. * At 708 AM EDT, severe thunderstorms capable of producing waterspouts were located along a line from over Tug Rio Caroni to 10 NM southeast of Sayler Barge, moving northwest at 10 knots. HAZARD...Waterspouts and wind gusts to 40 knots. SOURCE...Radar indicated. IMPACT...Waterspouts can easily overturn boats and create locally hazardous seas. Small craft could be damaged in briefly higher winds and suddenly higher waves. * Locations impacted include... * WHAT...Flash flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues to be possible. * WHERE...Portions of southeast Georgia, including the following areas, Bulloch, Candler, Coastal Bryan, Coastal Chatham, Coastal Liberty, Coastal McIntosh, Effingham, Evans, Inland Bryan, Inland Chatham, Inland Liberty, Inland McIntosh, Jenkins, Long, Screven and Tattnall and southeast South Carolina, including the following areas, Allendale, Beaufort, Charleston, Coastal Colleton, Coastal Jasper, Dorchester, Hampton, Inland Berkeley, Inland Colleton, Inland Jasper and Tidal Berkeley. * WHEN...Through late tonight. * IMPACTS...Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations. Flooding may occur in poor drainage and urban areas. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - Bands of heavy rainfall will spread across southeast Georgia and southeast South Carolina throughout the day. Widespread rainfall totals of 1 to 3 inches are expected, with locally higher amounts of 3 to 6 inches possible. For the Coastal Flood Advisory, up to one half foot of inundation above ground level expected along shorelines and tidal waterways (9.7 to 9.9 feet Mean Lower Low Water at Fort Pulaski). * WHERE...In Georgia, Coastal Bryan, Coastal Chatham, Coastal Liberty and Coastal McIntosh Counties. In South Carolina, Beaufort and Coastal Jasper Counties. * WHEN...For the High Rip Current Risk, through this evening. For the Coastal Flood Advisory, from 7 AM to 11 AM EDT this morning. * IMPACTS...Saltwater inundation will impact some roads. Rip currents can sweep even the best swimmers away from shore into deeper water. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS...High tide will occur around 8:45 AM this morning at Fort Pulaski. Saltwater inundation will be possible 1 to 2 hours before and after high tide.
