...The Flood Warning continues for the following rivers in Florida... St Johns River Near Astor affecting Volusia and Lake Counties. .Downstream tidal effects on the St Johns River have slowed flow at Astor. Heavy rainfall that has occurred upstream will lead to additional rises within Moderate flood stage late this week as water works north through the basin. For the St. Johns River...including Astor...Moderate flooding is forecast. * WHAT...Moderate flooding is occurring and moderate flooding is forecast. * WHERE...St Johns River near Astor. * WHEN...Until further notice. * IMPACTS...At 3.5 feet, Canals have overflowed into yards. Homes on or near Wildhog, Bonnet and Snail roads become inaccessible with several inches of water inside homes along the river and canals. Docks at Astor Bridge marina and throughout Astor are completely submerged. Bartram Rd and Holiday Circle are inaccessible with yards completely submerged. Clair Street is inaccessible. Roads flooded in South Moon Fish Camp, docks and yards at condominiums on Juno Trail and water breaches the sea wall at Blair's Jungle Den. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 10:30 AM EST Tuesday the stage was 3.4 feet. - Bankfull stage is 2.0 feet. - Recent Activity...The maximum river stage in the 24 hours ending at 10:30 AM EST Tuesday was 3.4 feet. - Forecast...While remaining in Moderate Flood Stage, the river is forecast to gradually decline the next couple days, then rise again this weekend. - Flood stage is 2.3 feet. - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood

The River is forecast to climb through Minor flood stage, approaching Moderate flood stage late week. For the St. Johns River...including Deland...Minor flooding is forecast. * WHAT...Minor flooding is forecast. * WHERE...St Johns River near Deland. * WHEN...Until further notice. * IMPACTS...At 4.5 feet, Water moves into yards and approaches buildings around Hontoon Island. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 10:30 AM EST Tuesday the stage was 4.0 feet. - Bankfull stage is 3.5 feet. - Forecast...The river is expected to continue rising to 4.6 feet early Sunday morning.
