Frances Slocum State Park

Overview

Frances Slocum State Park is a 1,035-acre Pennsylvania state park in Luzerne County, northeastern PA, featuring a distinctive 165-acre horseshoe-shaped lake. The park is open year-round from sunrise to sunset, with day-use areas closing at dusk. Currently, there are no active danger alerts or closures at the park. The park offers 100 modern campsites with electric hookups, plus extensive recreational opportunities including boating (electric motors only), fishing, 13+ miles of hiking and mountain biking trails, a seasonal swimming pool (Memorial Day to Labor Day, 11 AM-7 PM with fee), and wildlife watching. The Patrick J. Solano Environmental Education Center provides programs from March through November.
