Navajo State Park

Overview

Navajo State Park is located in southwestern Colorado near Arboles, 35 miles southwest of Pagosa Springs and 45 miles southeast of Durango. The park is currently open with no closures reported. Park hours are daily 5 a.m. to 10 p.m., with the visitor center open daily 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. March through November (reduced hours December-February). Often called Colorado's answer to Lake Powell, the park features a 15,000 surface-acre reservoir that extends 20 miles south into New Mexico. It offers 142 campsites across 5,088 acres with 9 miles of trails. The boat ramp operates seasonally from March 1 to November 30 with an ANS inspection station. The park features pinyon-juniper woodlands, excellent fishing for northern pike and catfish, and various water recreation opportunities including houseboating and sailing. Daily vehicle passes are $10. The park supports diverse wildlife including mule deer, river otters, bald eagles, and numerous bird species. Marina services and gas are available seasonally.
