Snow showers, and lake effect snow bands have set up across the region early this morning. Snow could be locally heavy at times, reducing visibility down to 1/4 mile. This coupled with the strong gusty winds, blowing snow and cold temperatures will create snow covered and slippery road conditions. Localized accumulations of 2 or 3 inches will be possible through 8 AM EST. If you are traveling this morning be prepared for rapidly changing weather and road conditions. Plan some extra time to reach your destination safely.

Winds gusting as high as 50 mph will create blowing snow, which could reduce visibility. * WHERE...Steuben County. * WHEN...Until 7 PM EST Wednesday. * IMPACTS...Travel could be difficult. Areas of blowing snow could reduce visibility. The hazardous conditions could impact morning and evening commutes. Gusty winds could bring down tree branches. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Higher snow totals up to 9 inches are possible across the northwestern portion of the county. Near blizzard conditions are possible at times Tuesday morning, especially in open, exposed locations.
