Cold Weather Advisory issued March 11 at 3:27PM AKDT until March 12 at 1:00PM AKDT by NWS Anchorage AK

* WHAT...Very cold wind chills as low as 10 to 15 below expected. * WHERE...Southern Kenai Peninsula and Prince William Sound, including the communities of Homer, Seldovia, Seward, Whittier, and Valdez. * WHEN...Until 1 PM AKDT Thursday. * IMPACTS...The dangerously cold wind chills as low as 15 below zero could cause frostbite on exposed skin in as little as 30 minutes. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Strong wind gusts as high as 35-45 mph for Seward, Whittier, and Valdez will slowly diminish through Thursday afternoon. Winds near Homer will be weaker tonight, but still strong enough to push wind chills down to as low as 15 below zero. Wind chill values will warm above zero as winds weaken by Thursday afternoon.
