...RED FLAG WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 7 PM MDT THIS EVENING DUE TO STRONG WINDS AND LOW RELATIVE HUMIDITY FOR THE WEST CENTRAL MOUNTAINS... .Critical fire weather conditions today focus over west central portions of the state, with elevated to near critical conditions prevailing elsewhere. Isolated dry storms in central and northern New Mexico this afternoon may start new fires and create gusty and erratic outflow wind gusts. * AFFECTED AREA...West Central Mountains (Zone 105). * TIMING...Until 7 PM MDT this evening. * 20 FOOT WINDS...Southwest winds 15 to 20 mph with gusts up to 35 mph. * RELATIVE HUMIDITY...Relative Humidity between 10 to 15 percent. * IMPACTS...Any fires that develop will spread rapidly. Outdoor burning is not recommended.
Stage II Fire Restrictions
Stage II Fire Restrictions are in effect beginning Thursday June 19, 2025. Due to high fire danger, El Morro is currently under Stage II Fire Restrictions. These include no campfires. No smoking except in an enclosed vehicle or other authorized area.
