Over forty miles of scenic trails invite you to explore the park's rare beauty. Mueller's 5,121 acres of aspen and conifer forests are home to an abundance of wildlife including black bear, elk, deer, fox, coyotes, bobcats, hawks and many other bird species. 134 campsites in seven loops include 110 electrical sites accommodating motor homes, trailers and tents, and 22 walk-in tent only sites. Two campsites in the equestrian area outside of the campground are set aside for use only by campers with horses (two horses per site). There are 4 hike in backcountry sites. Per CPW regulation, no individual may camp or park a motor vehicle, trailer or camper on a state park for more than fourteen (14) days in any twenty-eight (28) day period on a single park. For the purposes of this regulation, an individual is defined as any person who has occupied a site, whether or not they are formally listed on the reservation as the reserving party or primary occupant. Possession of a valid campsite reservation shall authorize a single camping unit (tent, camper, etc.) occupied by a single family unit, or a maximum of six (6) persons to camp in a campsite. “Camping Unit” is defined as one of the following: (1) Two tents and a passenger vehicle; or (2) One tent plus one motor home (Class A, B, C), motor vehicle, vehicle, trailer, slide-in truck camper, pop-up camper/trailer, boat, or other equipment of any description manufactured and/or used for the purposes of overnight occupancy. (3) A camping unit may include additional tents only in a campsite with a tent pad; provided the tents are contained on the pad and other camping unit and camping group limits are observed. (4) One passenger vehicle in addition to the above descriptions is authorized only if available parking space exists. “Passenger Vehicle” means a motor vehicle not designed or used for overnight occupancy. Any reservations made with one or more days outside of the 6-month reservation window will be frozen to changes for 14 days from the date the reservation was made.
