About

Ritchey Creek Campground occupies a scenic canyon within Bothe-Napa Valley State Park, located in the heart of California's Napa Valley wine country. The 1,900-acre park offers a dramatic landscape where coastal redwoods tower along Ritchey Creek, creating a cool, shaded environment that contrasts sharply with the surrounding wine country. The campground features approximately 50 family campsites, each uniquely situated either in the redwood groves near the creek or in the oak woodlands higher on the hillsides. Sites accommodate RVs up to 31 feet and trailers up to 24 feet, though there are no hookups. Walk-in tent sites are available first-come, first-served for those seeking a more primitive experience. Beyond traditional camping, the park offers alternative accommodations including fully restored historic cabins and yurts, all bookable through ReserveCalifornia. Pay showers and flush toilets serve the campground, and drinking water is available throughout. A group campsite accommodates 9-30 people for larger gatherings. The park features over 10 miles of hiking trails that wind through redwood groves, Douglas fir forests, and oak woodlands, with the popular Redwood Trail following Ritchey Creek through fern-covered canyon floors. A seasonal swimming pool operates on weekends during summer months. The park's location provides easy access to Napa Valley wineries while offering a forested retreat from the valley heat.
