Taconic State Park's Rudd Pond Area sits along the scenic Taconic Mountain Range in northeastern Dutchess County near Millerton, NY. The 64-acre pond serves as the centerpiece for this intimate campground offering 41 sites split between ground sites and elevated platform tent sites. Each campsite includes a picnic table and fire ring with cooking grill, and campers have access to a bathhouse with hot water showers and modern restrooms. Recreational opportunities abound at Rudd Pond. The designated swimming area operates on weekends and holidays from Memorial Day through mid-August. Boaters can rent rowboats, kayaks, canoes, and paddle boats to explore the pond. Hikers and bikers can access trails connecting to the broader Taconic State Park trail system along the ridge. A disc golf course and playground round out the amenities. The campground atmosphere is family-friendly with quiet hours strictly enforced from 10 PM to 7 AM.
