About

Buffalo Creek Campground is a quiet, primitive campground managed by the BLM Casper Field Office, situated along the scenic South Bighorn/Red Wall Back Country Byway in Natrona County, Wyoming. With only four campsites, it offers a secluded experience for those exploring this remote corner of central Wyoming. The campground provides basic amenities including a vault toilet and fire rings. No potable water is available, so campers must bring their own supply. There are no fees, and all sites operate on a first-come, first-served basis with no reservations. The campground is partially accessible. The surrounding area offers access to Buffalo Creek and connects to roads leading to the Big Horn National Forest and other backcountry destinations. The byway itself is known for its dramatic red wall formations and open range landscapes.

From Arminto, take the South Bighorn/Red Wall Back Country Byway north for 13.5 miles to Bighorn Mountain Road. Turn left and go 9.5 miles north to the campground on the left.
