About

Double Springs Campground is an "old fashion" campground originally constructed in the 1930s, nestled in a scenic draw at 7,171 feet elevation in Coconino National Forest. The heart of this camp is Double Spring, which runs to the surface just above camp, attracting wildlife including elk, mule deer, hawks, northern harriers, and occasional bald eagles. The campground offers 15 sites, including 11 standard nonelectric sites and 4 tent-only sites. Sites can accommodate vehicles up to 40 feet on gravel roads and parking spurs. Amenities include vault toilets, potable water, and picnic tables. There are no hookups, showers, or dump station. The Lake View Trail originates at the campground and provides a 2-mile one-way hike to overlooks with views of Mormon Lake and the surrounding forests and volcanoes. Quiet hours are enforced from 10 p.m. to 6 p.m., with no generators permitted during that time.
