About

Canyon Campground sits at 7,900 feet elevation in a lodgepole pine forest at Canyon Village, south of the Washburn range and near the Grand Canyon of the Yellowstone River. The campground features 273 individual sites accommodating tents and RVs up to 40 feet in length, with both pull-through and back-in configurations. Each campsite includes a picnic table and fire grate, and bear-proof food storage boxes are provided throughout the campground. The campground offers modern amenities including 15 comfort stations with flush toilets and cold running water, dishwashing stations, and a camper services building with coin-operated hot showers and laundry facilities. Two showers per night are included with site fees. An RV dump station is available seasonally. Wood fires are permitted in fire grates, and firewood is available for purchase. Generators may operate at RV sites from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. only. Canyon Village is within a quarter-mile walk, offering full-service dining, cafeterias, a general store with groceries, a gift shop, gas station, and post office. The NPS Canyon Visitor Center, ranger programs, and amphitheater are nearby. Popular hiking trails to the Grand Canyon of the Yellowstone, Cascade Lake, and Mount Washburn are accessible from the campground. Three ADA-accessible sites with extended picnic tables and raised fire grates are located in Loop L with nearby accessible restrooms.
