Alcohol Prohibitions

This Order describes acts that are prohibited upon lands, roads and trails within the National Forest System administered by the Forest Service Pacific Northwest Region in regards to alcoholic beverages.

Aquatic Invasive Species

This Order prohibits 1) possessing, storing, or transporting any aquatic invasive animal species AND 2) prohibits possessing, storing, or transporting any aquatic or riparian invasive plant species - on National Forest System lands in the Pacific Northwest Region as specified in the Order.

About

Slide Creek Campground is a scenic camping destination tucked among mixed conifers on the east bank of Cougar Reservoir, approximately 50 miles east of Eugene, Oregon. The 1,280-acre reservoir sits at 1,700 feet elevation, offering excellent opportunities for water skiing, swimming, canoeing, and fishing for rainbow trout. Some campsites have views of the reservoir, and all are within easy walking distance of the swimming area. The campground features 16 sites (14 single, 2 double) that can accommodate tents, trailers, and RVs. Each site comes equipped with a campfire ring and picnic table. Facilities include potable drinking water from a hand pump, vault toilets, a boat ramp with separate trailer parking, and ample day-use parking. The campground is also conveniently located near Terwilliger Hot Springs, which features five natural soaking pools fed by the Rider Creek waterfall. The surrounding Willamette National Forest stretches 110 miles and offers varied landscapes of high mountains, narrow canyons, and cascading streams. The Olallie Trail Area nearby provides an extensive network of hiking and biking trails. Wildlife in the area includes Roosevelt elk, black bear, bald eagles, black-tailed deer, and bobcats.

Directions

From Blue River, OR, travel 4 miles east on Highway 126 to Aufderheide Drive (Forest Road 19). Proceed south on Aufderheide Drive, turning right at the Y and climbing to the top of Cougar Reservoir. Continue south on Aufderheide Drive for 8 miles to Forest Road 500. Turn left on Forest Road 500 and continue north for 1.5 miles to Slide Creek Campground.
