About
Cottonwood Cabin is a historic Forest Service rental cabin located in the Entiat Valley of the Okanogan-Wenatchee National Forest. Built in the 1940s as seasonal housing for fire, trail, and campground crews, the cabin sits at 3,100 feet elevation on the banks of the Entiat River, surrounded by mature lodgepole pine and spruce forest. The single-room cabin measures 20' x 16' and accommodates up to four guests, with a futon sofa that converts to a double bed and a separate double bed. The cabin features hot and cold running water during summer months via a solar-powered system, a private outdoor shower facility, vault toilet, propane cook stove and wall heater, and LED lighting. Basic kitchen supplies including pots, pans, plates, and silverware are provided. Guests must bring their own bedding, towels, dish soap, toilet paper, and garbage bags. A campfire ring is located adjacent to the cabin on the riverbank. The surrounding area offers excellent hiking, fishing, and mountain biking. The Entiat River above Entiat Falls (four miles below the cabin) supports populations of rainbow, cutthroat, and brook trout. Nearby attractions include Silver Falls National Recreation Trail, Box Canyon, and Entiat Falls. A barn and corral are available for guests with stock animals.
