About
Nason Creek Campground is situated in the Cascade foothills within the Okanogan-Wenatchee National Forest, approximately 19 miles northwest of Leavenworth and one mile south of Lake Wenatchee State Park. The campground spans both sides of Nason Creek and features 70 single sites and 3 double sites nestled in old-growth forest. The area offers stunning scenic views with high glaciated alpine peaks, valleys of old-growth forest, and diverse landscapes ranging from below 1,000 feet to over 9,000 feet in elevation.
The campground serves as an excellent base camp for outdoor enthusiasts, offering access to hiking, fishing, swimming, horseback riding, and mountain biking during the summer and early fall months. Nearby Lake Wenatchee provides opportunities for fishing rainbow trout, cutthroat trout, and kokanee salmon. Several access trails in the area allow day-hikers and overnight backpackers to create custom excursions into the surrounding wilderness. The surrounding undeveloped wilderness supports abundant wildlife including deer, porcupine, native fish, migratory birds, and protected species such as Northern Bald Eagles and Northern Spotted Owls. Stevens Pass Ski Area and the historic Stevens Pass district are also nearby attractions.
