Moraine Park Campground

Moraine Park Campground is Rocky Mountain National Park's largest campground, located in the scenic Moraine Park valley on the east side of the park. At 8,160 feet elevation, the campground sits amid a pleasant mix of Douglas fir, lodgepole pine, and ponderosa pine with open meadow views. The Big Thompson River flows nearby, and wildlife including elk and mule deer frequently graze in the surrounding meadows. The campground has 244 sites spread across five loops (A through E). Each site features a picnic table, fire ring with cooking grate, and bear-proof food storage locker. Loop B and C offer 49 sites with electric hookups supporting 20, 30, and 50 amp service. Amenities include flush toilets, potable water, an RV dump station, and two solar shower facilities where campers provide their own shower bags. A free shuttle bus connects the campground to popular Bear Lake Road trailheads during summer. The campground accommodates RVs and trailers up to 40 feet combined length. Nineteen sites have been improved for ADA accessibility with concrete pads, accessible picnic tables, and raised fire rings. Generator use is prohibited in Loop D and restricted to specific hours elsewhere. During winter, campsites are not plowed and campers should bring shovels to dig out sites.

Directions

From Estes Park, take Highway 36 west toward the Beaver Meadows Entrance Station. Turn left onto Bear Lake Road and drive approximately 1 mile. Turn onto Moraine Park Road and follow it about 1 mile to the campground entrance.
