Winds gusting as high as 40 mph. * WHERE...Northern Carroll and Northern Grafton Counties. * WHEN...From midnight tonight to 10 AM EDT Sunday. * IMPACTS...A period of mixed precipitation is expected with air temperatures remaining below freezing. Expect slippery road conditions and avoid travel if possible. Even light snowfall amounts can accumulate on roads and cause dangerous driving conditions due to snow covered roads.

Basin Campground is located in a rustic, remote part of White Mountain National Forest in New Hampshire, about 15 miles north of Fryeburg, Maine. This small facility features a mix of tent-only and standard campsites arranged along a single loop in a pleasant mixed hardwood forest, just a short distance from the 23-acre Basin Pond. The campground provides access to excellent outdoor recreation opportunities. The 4.5-mile Basin Trail leaves directly from the campground, and numerous other hiking and mountain biking trails are within a short drive. Basin Pond offers trout fishing and calm waters ideal for canoeing, with a boat launch available for non-motorized boats only. The area is home to diverse northern wildlife including moose, white-tailed deer, black bear, and nearly 200 bird species including the rare Bicknell's Thrush. The White Mountains encompass nearly 800,000 acres in New Hampshire and western Maine, featuring pristine forests, clear mountain streams and rivers, and the tallest peaks in the Northeast. The area hosts four alpine and five nordic ski areas providing year-round recreation. Fryeburg, Maine offers groceries, restaurants, and gas, while the Presidential Range and Mount Washington make excellent day trip destinations.
