Dewey Bridge Campground is a Bureau of Land Management recreation site positioned along the scenic Colorado River in San Juan County, Utah. Located 29 miles east of Moab on Highway 128, the campground provides a quieter alternative to busier Moab-area sites while still offering easy access to the region's iconic red rock landscapes. Sites are tucked among cottonwood trees along the riverbank, with views across to the dramatic Entrada Bluffs sandstone formations. The campground accommodates tents and small RVs across 7-8 individual sites available on a first-come, first-served basis, plus two group sites reservable through Recreation.gov. Each site includes a fire ring and picnic table. Vault toilets are provided, but there is no potable water, hookups, or dump station. Campers must bring their own water and pack accordingly. The location offers river access for small boats and proximity to the ruins of the historic Dewey Bridge. Kokopelli's Trail, a popular multi-use route connecting Loma, Colorado to Moab, passes nearby. The Colorado River here has dangerous undercurrents; life jackets are required for water entry. A 14-night stay limit applies within any 30-day period.
Directions
From the junction of Highway 191 and Highway 128 in Moab, drive east 29 miles along the Colorado River on Highway 128. The campground is on the left.
