The reservoir has traditionally been stocked with Rainbow Trout, Lahontan Cutthroat throat and brown trout by the California Department of Fish and Game. The prime time for fishing this reservoir is spring and early summer when the water levels are the highest. Title to the land under and adjacent to the reservoir is a combination of Private and Federal ownership. The Dodge Ranch holds the water rights to the reservoir with no minimum pool requirement.
