About
Primrose Campground is a small, scenic campground in Chugach National Forest located at the confluence of Primrose Creek and Kenai Lake on Alaska's Kenai Peninsula. The campground offers 8 tent and RV sites nestled among large spruce trees, providing a quintessential Alaska camping experience with lakeside access. The campground features vault toilets, potable water, picnic tables at each site, fire pits, trash service via dumpsters, and a boat ramp for lake access. There are no hookups or showers. Sites are available first-come, first-served only at $19 per night. The Primrose Trailhead is located at the campground, offering access to a 7.5-mile segment of the historic Iditarod National Historic Trail. The trail climbs gradually through dense forest before opening to expansive alpine terrain with lakes, rolling hills, and panoramic vistas at Lost Lake.

Travel south on the Seward Highway to Milepost 17. Turn west and travel 1 mile to Primrose Campground.
