Morefield Campground is located 4.5 miles from the entrance of Mesa Verde National Park, nestled in a scenic, high-elevation canyon surrounded by Gambel oak, native wildflowers, and abundant wildlife including mule deer and wild turkeys. The campground offers 267 total campsites comprised of 15 full-hookup RV sites with water, electric, and sewer, 17 group tent sites accommodating up to 25 guests each, and numerous dry tent and RV sites. Each site includes a picnic table, gravel tent pad, and fire pit or BBQ grill. Morefield Village provides comprehensive amenities including Knife Edge Café serving an all-you-can-eat pancake breakfast during peak season, a well-stocked camp store with groceries and camping supplies, gift shop, hot showers, coin-operated laundromat, firewood sales, gasoline, and a pet kennel. A free dump station is available for RVs. High-speed internet access is available throughout all campsite loops. The campground serves as an ideal basecamp for exploring Mesa Verde's ancient cliff dwellings and 30 miles of hiking trails. Managed by Aramark, the park concessionaire, reservations are accepted but not required except for full-hookup sites where they are highly recommended.
Directions
Morefield Campground is located just off Main Park Road at milepost 4. From Highway 160, enter Mesa Verde National Park and continue on Main Park Road for 4 miles until you reach the turnoff for Morefield Campground on your right.
