About

Morefield Campground occupies a high-elevation canyon about four miles from the Mesa Verde National Park entrance, surrounded by Gambel oak, native wildflowers, and frequent wildlife including deer and wild turkeys. The campground offers 267 sites: approximately 235 dry tent/RV sites, 15 full-hookup RV sites with water, electric, and sewer, and 17 group sites accommodating up to 25 guests each. Each individual campsite includes a picnic table, gravel tent pad, and fire pit or BBQ grill. Morefield Village provides a camp store with registration, food, and supplies, plus hot showers, coin-operated laundry, a dump station, and high-speed wifi throughout the campground loops. The Knife Edge Cafe serves seasonal breakfast, and a dog boarding kennel is available for those exploring areas where pets are prohibited. RVs and trailers up to 46 feet are permitted, though reservations are recommended for larger rigs and full-hookup sites. The campground enforces quiet hours from 10 PM to 6 AM and limits stays to 14 consecutive nights. Senior and Access pass holders receive camping discounts.

Directions

From Highway 160, take the Mesa Verde National Park entrance and continue on the Main Park Road for four miles. The Morefield Campground turnoff is on the right near milepost 4.
