New things have happened, and we want you to know about them.
We, along with our launch partner Hipcamp, are excited to announce the Campflare Public API. Effective today, Campflare's data and services are open to the public programmatically. Any individual, company, or other organization can integrate Campflare's availability and campground data into their own platform for free. We believe that by opening up this data, we can further increase accessibility to our public lands. To start building now, click here.
We have partnered with Hipcamp! They are first to integrate campground availability alerts into their platform utilizing the Campflare API. Their reach will help expand the access to availability alerts and thus the access of our public lands. We want to sincerely thank their hard working team for doing so. View their new feature, Hipcamp Alerts, here.
We have been receiving requests to add wilderness permits to Campflare for awhile now, and the day has finally come. They are now available on both the app and website. We support most permits on recreation.gov. If you want us to add a new permit, please let us know!
With the quickly growing popularity of camping, sometimes it can be difficult to find a campground near you that is simply available for the weekend, let alone a specific campground. Only 8% of public campgrounds in California are available to book for Labor Day Weekend. With our new Availability Maps, you can select the days you wish to camp, and the map will show all campgrounds in the United States that are available for those dates. We hope this will help get more people outside. You can find the map on both the website and app.
In addition to scanning wilderness permits, all Campflare alerts now scan a year into the future. Furthermore, you can now filter on the length of your rig. There has also been many behind the scenes improvements to our alerts, making them more reliable.
