Isolated moderate flooding is possible. More rounds of rainfall going into and through the holiday weekend could make the flooding last longer and bring higher crests. * WHAT...Minor flooding is occurring and minor flooding is forecast. * WHERE...White River at Edwardsport. * WHEN...Until late Tuesday evening. * IMPACTS...At 22.9 feet, A 25 foot section of Levee Unit 8 failed at this level on March 6 2011...flooding local roads behind the levee. Flooding not nearly as bad as June 2008 levee failure. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 7:00 AM EDT Friday /6:00 AM CDT Friday/ the stage was 21.5 feet. - Recent Activity...The maximum river stage in the 24 hours ending at 7:00 AM EDT Friday /6:00 AM CDT Friday/ was 21.5 feet. - Forecast...The river is expected to rise to a crest of 21.5 feet this afternoon. High water surrounds residents in river cabins. Oil fields and local roads flood. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - There is no current observed data. - Forecast...The river will rise to 23.0 feet early Monday morning. It will then fall early Tuesday morning. It will rise to 22.9 feet early Wednesday morning. Wabash River at Mount Carmel. .Multiple rounds of heavy rainfall to start the week will bring minor lowland river flooding to Mount Carmel on the Wabash River as water routes downstream from the White River. More rounds of rainfall going into and through the holiday weekend could make the flooding last longer and bring a higher crest. * WHAT...Minor flooding is forecast. * WHERE...Wabash River at Mount Carmel. * WHEN...From late tonight to Friday, May 29. * IMPACTS...At 20.0 feet, River is bankfull in all locations. All oil field production ceases with the exception of pumping units on substructures. Access to these are by boat only. Agricultural losses increase dramatically. Farmers move livestock to higher ground. City of Mount Carmel leaves flood gates B and C in year round. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 10:45 AM EDT Friday /9:45 AM CDT Friday/ the stage was 18.2 feet. - Forecast...The river is expected to rise above flood stage late tonight to a crest of 20.4 feet early Monday afternoon.
