* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues to be possible. * WHERE...Portions of North Carolina, including the following areas, Alleghany NC, Ashe, Caswell, Rockingham, Stokes, Surry, Watauga, Wilkes and Yadkin and Virginia, including the following areas, Amherst, Appomattox, Bedford, Bland, Botetourt, Buckingham, Campbell, Carroll, Charlotte, Craig, Floyd, Franklin, Giles, Grayson, Halifax, Henry, Montgomery, Patrick, Pittsylvania, Pulaski, Roanoke, Smyth, Tazewell and Wythe. * WHEN...Until 7 PM EDT this evening. * IMPACTS...Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations. Flooding may occur in poor drainage and urban areas. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - A slow moving front will focus a west to east moving area of showers and thunderstorms this afternoon. High levels of moisture in place could lead to one hour rainfall rates of 2 inches or more an hours. This could lead to flash flooding. - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood

Visitor Center Exhibits Closed

The visitor center exhibit area is closed due to an HVAC replacement project. The park store and park film are still available Wednesdays through Sundays, 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM.
