Brochure InfoLocated just off Interstate 80, Great Salt Lake State Park is the most easily accessed gateway to the Great Salt Lake.Brochure Info - OrientationThe Great Salt Lake today is a remnant of the much larger Lake Bonneville, which spanned 20,000 square miles during the last ice age. Today, the lake is about 75 miles north to south, and 35 miles east to west. The state park is located at the lake's southern edge.Brochure Info - RecreationActivites in the park include walking along the beach, swimming, boating, birding, kayaking, and simply taking in the sweeping views of the lake.Brochure Info - Facilities and RestrictionsThe park's visitor center contains a gift shop and exhibits detailing the history, geography, and inhabitants of the Great Salt Lake (including a tank of living brine shrimp). Picnic areas and campsites offer views of the harbor and the lake, and a public boat ramp allows for access out onto the water.Brochure Info - Nearby AttractionsWe are located adjacent to the famous Saltair Palace, and we are just minutes away from the Salt Lake City airport and downtown.Key InfoPark gates close at 5:00pm. If you intend to arrive after-hours, please call the park visitor center (9am-5pm) at 801-828-0787 in order to make arrangements for entry.Important Information for Daily EntranceDirectionGreat Salt Lake State Park is located just off Exit 104 on Interstate 80.Season Date DescReservations are accepted Year Round. Self Containment due to cold weather is advised from October 1st - March 31st. Visit www.stateparks.utah.gov for up to date conditions.Fee Cancellation DescCancellations are accepted online 24 hours a day, seven days a week or by calling the Reservation Call Center Monday through Friday 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. (Mountain Time) Individual site cancellations made four days or more in advance of your scheduled arrival incur an $8 cancellation fee in addition to the $8 reservation fee. Cancellations made less than four days in advance forfeit one night's fee in addition to the cancellation and reservation fees. Changes to an existing reservation can only be made by contacting the Reservation Call Center. Changes can be made up to two days prior to your scheduled arrival date and incur a $5 change fee per site.
