Brochure InfoSixty-seven monolithic stone spires called sedimentary pipes accentuate multi-hued sandstone layers revealing 180 million years of geologic time. The color and beauty found here prompted a 1948 National Geographic Society expedition to name the area Kodachrome after the popular color film. Important Information for Daily EntranceDirectionFROM Salt Lake City, travel south on Interstate 15 to US 20, then east to US 89. Travel south through Panquitch to US 12, then east to Cannonville. From there, proceed south nine miles to the park.Fee Cancellation DescCancellations are accepted online 24 hours a day, seven days a week or by calling the Reservation Call Center Monday through Friday 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. (Mountain Time) Individual site cancellations made four days or more in advance of your scheduled arrival incur an $8 cancellation fee in addition to the $8 reservation fee. Cancellations made less than four days in advance forfeit one night's fee in addition to the cancellation and reservation fees. Group area cancellations made 14 days or more in advance of your scheduled arrival incur an $8 cancellation fee in addition to the $10.25 reservation fee. Cancellations made less than 14 days in advance forfeit one night's fee in addition to the cancellation and reservation fees. Changes to an existing reservation can only be made by contacting the Reservation Call Center. Changes can be made up to two days prior to your scheduled arrival date and incur a $5 change fee per site.
