There are two campgrounds and a yurt area. The Kayenta Campground (campsites 1-22) is a small and remote, but very popular, campground rests in a beautiful red rock desert environment. The Wingate Campground will be added to the reservation system very soon as has 20 RV campsites with tent pads, 11 tent only campsites, and 4 new yurts. The Moenkopi area has three older yurts and two more are being added in the very near future.Brochure Info - Nearby AttractionsThe park is 32 miles from the city of Moab. Within driving distance to Canyonlands and Arches National Parks as well as many biking and four-wheeling destinations.Key Info There are no showers at the Dead Horse Point State park. The nearest services are 35 miles from the park in Moab. Please, come prepared! All campers must fill water storage tanks and containers before coming to the park. All the water in the park is trucked in from Moab. Please, help us conserve water. Wood and charcoal fires are permitted in provided fire pits. Firewood collecting in the park is not allowed. You can purchase firewood at the park. Please walk and bike on established hiking and biking trails and on established campground paths only. The natural resources at the park are very sensitive. Please access trails from the established trailheads. Pets must be on a leash less than 6 feet long and attended at all times. Dogs are allowed on hiking trails. Dogs are not allowed on the mountain bike trails. Please do not feed the wildlife. Quiet hours are 10:00 pm - 7:00 am daily. Kayenta Campground: All campsites in the Kayenta Campground have 20/30/50 amp electrical hookups near the paved driveway. This campground has flush toilets, a dump station, and each campsite has a small shade shelter and at least one tent pad. Wingate Campground: The Wingate Campground was opened in 2018 and offers guests access to 21 campsites with 20/30/50 amp electrical hookups, 11 hike-in tent only campsites, and 4 yurts. The hike into the tent only campsites is less than 200 yards from the parking lot. This campground has two restrooms with flush toilets and one vault toilet, a dump station, and all of the campsites have a shade shelter and one small tent pad. Wingate Yurts: There are now four yurts in the new Wingate campground. Like the Moenkopi Yurts these yurts are complete with a bunk bed, futon bed, tables (indoors and outdoors), AC/heater units, lamp, BBQ grill, and a fire pit. Pets, smoking, and cooking is not allowed inside the yurts. Please do not move the furniture inside or on the decks. Tent and trailer/RV camping is not allowed by the yurts. Moenkopi Yurts: The area where the original 3 yurts are located is now named the Moenkopi Yurt area and we added two new yurts at this location in 2018. We have also added a new restroom with flush toilets. Yurts are complete with a bunk bed, futon bed, tables (indoors and outdoors), AC/heater units, lamp, BBQ grill, and a fire pit. Pets, smoking, and cooking is not allowed inside the yurts. Please do not move the furniture inside or on the decks. Tent and trailer/RV camping is not allowed by the yurts. Important Information for Daily EntranceDirectionDead Horse Point is on State Route 313, 18 miles off Highway 191 near Moab.Season Date DescReservations are accepted Year Round. Self Containment due to cold weather is advised from October 2nd - March 31st. Visit www.stateparks.utah.gov for up to date conditions.Fee Cancellation DescCancellations are accepted online 24 hours a day, seven days a week or by calling the Reservation Call Center Monday through Friday 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. (Mountain Time) Individual site cancellations made four days or more in advance of your scheduled arrival incur an $8 cancellation fee in addition to the $8 reservation fee. Cancellations made less than four days in advance forfeit one night's fee in addition to the cancellation and reservation fees. Changes to an existing reservation can only be made by contacting the Reservation Call Center. Changes can be made up to two days prior to your scheduled arrival date and incur a $5 change fee per site.
