Elevated boardwalks and well maintained trails guide visitors through the upland sage and wetland areas, leading to a breathtaking view of the Provo River as it enters the Jordanelle Reservoir. Brochure Info - OrientationRock Cliff Recreation Area: Located on the Provo River two miles west of Francis on State Route 32.Rock Cliff's 100 acres of protected habitat attracts abundant wildlife. Nearly 200 species of birds, including the Bald Eagle, and many small mammals such as mink, fox and beaver find safe haven here. Rock Cliff is also home to a few larger mammals such as moose, deer, elk and mountain lion. Although a part of Jordanelle State Park, Rock Cliff is unique in a variety of ways. Whereas the Hailstone Recreation Area functions as the park's headquarters and major recreational complex, Rock Cliff's major emphasis lies in education, interpretation, and low-impact recreational experiences. The Ross Creek Trailhead is located on the far Northeast corner of the park. The trail provides non-motorized day-use access to the reservoir and the perimiter trail. The trailhead offers parking, restroom facilities and hitching posts.Brochure Info - Facilities and Restrictionsa Nature Center and boardwalk system were created to protect and preserve the surrounding riparian and wetland ecosystem. To protect this area and at the same time provide a quality camping experience for our visitors, a secluded walk-in tent campground was established, nestled among the beautiful cottonwood/aspen forest found along the Provo River.Key Info Nature center hours vary. From Provo: Take US 189 to US 40, to State Road 32, then take the Rockcliff Exit.Season Date DescMay 15th- September 15th. (may experience flooding early spring)Fee Cancellation DescCancellations are accepted online 24 hours a day, seven days a week or by calling the Reservation Call Center Monday through Friday 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. (Mountain Time) Individual site cancellations made four days or more in advance of your scheduled arrival incur an $8 cancellation fee in addition to the $8 reservation fee. Cancellations made less than four days in advance forfeit one night's fee in addition to the cancellation and reservation fees. Group area cancellations made 14 days or more in advance of your scheduled arrival incur an $8 cancellation fee in addition to the $10.25 reservation fee. Cancellations made less than 14 days in advance forfeit one night's fee in addition to the cancellation and reservation fees. Changes to an existing reservation can only be made by contacting the Reservation Call Center. Changes can be made up to two days prior to your scheduled arrival date and incur a $5 change fee per site.
