All registered campers and day-users that are four years old and older are issued wristbands upon entry which must be worn for the visitor's entire stay at the park. Peak Season (Memorial Day weekend - Labor Day weekend), park access hours are extended to 8am to 11pm during the summer when the dances are going on. Day Use permits are valid only until the dance is over at 11pm but will not be available for issue after 10pm. Gates will close at 11:30pm. Weekends & Holiday weekends not during Peak Season (Thanksgiving, Spring Break, Easter, etc.) call Park for extended hours. When the park reaches its maximum capacity, it will close to Day Use visitors (as early as 10am) and will reopen by 6pm. Closures are common on holidays and from Memorial Day weekend through Labor Day weekend. If you are planning to visit for the day, please arrive early and have alternate plans in case the park is closed. Customers with 'Save the Day' Passes and reservations are not affected and are able to enter during these closures. The 14 day maximum stay limit is not enforced during the Non-Peak season (from Tuesday after Labor Day through Wednesday before Memorial Day). Customers wanting more than 14 days during these transition periods may make a reservation for 14 days and then contact the Customer Service Center to extend the reservation for the peak period. Garner is divided into 2 sections: Old Garner and New Garner - both sections are along the Frio River. Old Garner is the Pecan Grove and Oakmont areas; considered premium due to demand. Concessions and recreational activities are in this area: grocery store, mini-golf, paddleboats, dance pavilion and river dam with deepest swimming areas. Concessions are open seasonally - Memorial Day through Labor Day and some weekends. New Garner is the Live Oak, Cypress Springs, Rio Frio, Shady Meadows, River Crossing, and Persimmon Hill areas; considered regular. It is more secluded away from the concessions/activity area.
