To download a copy of the Colton Point State Park Campground Map visit https://www.dcnr.pa.gov/StateParks/FindAPark/ColtonPointStatePark/Pages/Maps.aspx On the west rim of Pine Creek Gorge, the Pennsylvania Grand Canyon, the 368-acre Colton Point State Park resonates with the rustic charm of the Civilian Conservation Corps era of the 1930s. The rugged overlooks offer great views of the canyon. On the other side of the canyon is Leonard Harrison State Park.Brochure Info - OrientationAs part of the Pine Creek Gorge National Natural Landmark, the park is evidence of the power of glacial melt water, having reversed a stream, and carving a path southward through the Allegheny Plateau. Visitors will have a bird-eye view of the modern-day Pine Creek over 600 feet below the overlooks. Pine Creek is designated as a Pennsylvania Scenic and Wild River and offers fishing and seasonal rafting, canoeing and kayaking. The park serves as a trailhead to many trails as well as thousands of acres of the Tioga State Forest to the west. Wildlife is abundant and highlights include bear, deer and turkey as well as bald eagles and ravens. River otters were reintroduced in the 1980's and can be seen occasionally along the waterways.Key InfoPermit Conditions: 1. No more than one family unit or five unrelated persons per campsite.
